ABOUT DOL-FAN UK
The origins of DolFan UK date back to 1993, when three ardent UK fans created an unofficial fan club, dedicated to the Miami Dolphins. The turn of the century brought exciting changes to the club, with members travelling in groups to Florida to watch games. It rapidly gained recognition from the Miami Dolphins, achieving our much cherished official chapter status in 2000.
The Dolphins organisation subsequently gifted DolFan UK an official banner, our official status, and our much valued and giant “13 Marino” shirt. This was the shirt that was displayed on the field on the very day that Dan Marino was inducted into the Dolphins Ring of Honor, and had his shirt number retired, at the game against Baltimore on September 17th 2000. Incidentally, that very same shirt was proudly displayed on the “hill” in Canton, Ohio by some of our members on the very day that Marino was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Despite the fact that there is no longer an official fan club in the States, our excellent relationship with the Dolphins continues to this day.
Dol-Fan UK has been represented by it’s members in many NFL stadiums including Pittsburgh, Dallas, Phoenix, Washington DC, San Diego, Chicago, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, and Wembley (to name but a few!).
Our purpose is to support and promote the Miami Dolphins and the NFL, and to share our experiences and stories amongst the Dolphins’ community of fans, both in the UK and throughout the world.
We exist so that members can have fun, make friends, and join together in supporting the Miami Dolphins. Many long-lasting friendships have been forged through the club, a fact that we are extremely proud of. Dol-Fan UK always strives to have an annual “Club Do” here in the UK where we can meet up, and enjoy the company of like minded fans from around the UK. It is an opportunity to talk to old friends, meet new ones, have a drink and win some fantastic prizes in our famous club raffle.
Run by a committee of four members, we strive to make membership a very positive experience for all, actively encouraging contributions and feedback from all of our members so that we can make this a better club for everyone.
